In surveys conducted from 2020 to 2022, five leaf samples each from symptomatic Agele marmelos trees and seedlings, along with five samples from asymptomatic trees and seedlings, were collected in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. The DNA extraction from all the samples was subjected to nested PCR assays, using the universal phytoplasma-specific primers set (P1/P7 followed by R16F2n/R16R2). The resulting 1.2 kb amplified products were observed in all the symptomatic samples but not in the asymptomatic samples. Bael phytoplasma strain sequences from the trees and seedlings were found 100% identical within themselves and only two representative sequences (one each from tree and seedling) were deposited in GenBank (NCBI) as PP415872 (AmA-1) and PP415873 (AmA-2). BLASTn searches revealed the maximum (100%) sequence identity with a phytoplasma strain from murraya little leaf strain of Faizabad (GenBank Acc.no. OP984129) and lowest (99.84%) with arecanut crown choking of Shimoga (GenBank Acc. no. OM417502) from Karnataka. Phylogenetic analysis clustered the bael phytoplasma isolates with peanut witches' broom group phytoplasma strains. Virtual RFLP analysis confirmed their identity as 'Ca. P. australasiaticum', a 16SrII-D subgroup strain. This study presents the first identification of a phytoplasma strain in A. marmelos, emphasizing its potential threat to fruit crops and the need for vigilance in nursery practices to prevent further dissemination.

The aminotroponiminate (ATI) ligand stabilized germylene cation [(i-Bu)2ATIGe][B(C6F5)4] (2) is found to be an efficient low-valent main-group catalyst for the cyanosilylation of aldehydes and ketones (ATI = aminotroponiminate). It was synthesized by reacting [(i-Bu)2ATIGeCl] (1) with Na[B(C6F5)4]. The catalytic cyanosilylation of diverse aliphatic and aromatic carbonyl compounds (aldehydes and ketones) using 0.075-0.75 mol% of compound 2 was completed within 5-45 min. The catalytic efficiency seen with aliphatic aldehydes was around 15,800 h-1, making compound 2 a capable low-valent main-group catalyst for the aldehyde and ketone cyanosilylation reactions.

BACKGROUND: Femoral derotation osteotomy is treatment of choice in intoeing gait secondary to cerebral palsy (CP). RESEARCH QUESTION: The aim of this study was to critically appraise the literature regarding the long-term outcomes of femoral derotation surgery in CP. METHODS: Electronic databases of PubMed and Scopus was used for the literature review by two researchers independently (SB, SC). The study population included patients of cerebral palsy undergoing femoral derotation surgery. The keywords used were "cerebral palsy", "intoeing gait", "femur anteversion", "hip anteversion", "femur derotation" and "femur osteotomy". RESULTS: Nine studies which included 657 limbs in 407 patients were selected for this study of which eight were retrospective in nature. The improvement in hip rotation at stance at last follow up (more than five years) maintained a statistical significance (SMD 1.67 95 %CI 1.12-2.22). Similar statistically significant outcomes were noted for foot progression angle (SMD 1.19 95 %CI 0.92-1.47), anteversion (SMD 2.75 95 %CI 1.49-4.01) and total passive internal rotation (SMD 1.71 95 %CI 1.19-2.22). SIGNIFICANCE: Femoral derotation surgery is the procedure of choice for correction of intoeing gait in CP. Even though, there is deterioration of results on long-term as compared to short term, majority of the patients shall maintain overall correction without recurrence of an intoeing gait. Future studies with uniform criteria for defining recurrence on the basis of functional limitations shall provide better idea about the natural course of this procedure.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is increasingly used as a therapeutic approach for gastrointestinal diseases, especially with the advent of lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS). This has led to a rise in of EUS-guided gastrointestinal anastomosis procedures. Due to the reliability of intestinal conduits with LAMS, indications for EUS-guided gastrointestinal anastomosis are becoming more common and trend to potentially be standard care for gastric outlet obstruction, afferent loop syndrome, and EUS-directed transgastric interventions such as EUS-directed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Retrospective and prospective data indicate that the procedure is becoming widely adopted with promising outcomes. This article aims to review the existing literature on EUS-guided gastrointestinal anastomosis and predict its future developments.

Chondrosarcoma is the second most common surgically treated primary bone sarcoma. Despite a large number of scientific papers in the literature, there is still significant controversy about diagnostics, treatment of the primary tumour, subtypes, and complications. Therefore, consensus on its day-to-day treatment decisions is needed. In January 2024, the Birmingham Orthopaedic Oncology Meeting (BOOM) attempted to gain global consensus from 300 delegates from over 50 countries. The meeting focused on these critical areas and aimed to generate consensus statements based on evidence amalgamation and expert opinion from diverse geographical regions. In parallel, periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) in oncological reconstructions poses unique challenges due to factors such as adjuvant treatments, large exposures, and the complexity of surgery. The meeting debated two-stage revisions, antibiotic prophylaxis, managing acute PJI in patients undergoing chemotherapy, and defining the best strategies for wound management and allograft reconstruction. The objectives of the meeting extended beyond resolving immediate controversies. It sought to foster global collaboration among specialists attending the meeting, and to encourage future research projects to address unsolved dilemmas. By highlighting areas of disagreement and promoting collaborative research endeavours, this initiative aims to enhance treatment standards and potentially improve outcomes for patients globally. This paper sets out some of the controversies and questions that were debated in the meeting.

Background: To prepare ocular emulsions containing bipartitioned oil droplets to entrap cyclosporin A (0.05% w/w) and etodolac (0.2% w/w) by using castor, olive and silicon oils. Methods: The physicochemical characterizations of prepared emulsions were performed. The drug's biodistribution profiles and pharmacokinetic parameters from emulsions were checked using the ultraperformance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method in the ocular tissues of the healthy rabbit eye model. Results: The emulsions displayed 365.13 ± 7.21 nm size and 26.45 ± 2.09 mV zeta potential. The ferrying of two drugs after releasing from emulsions occurred across corneal/conjunctival tissues to enter the vitreous and sclera following a single drop administration into the rabbit's eyes. Conclusion: The dual drug-loaded emulsions were more likely to produce synergistic anti-inflammatory activity for managing moderate-to-severe dry eye disease.

INTRODUCTION: The foot is a complex structure composed of several tissues, each of which can be the origin of the proliferation and development of the tumour. Most lesions about the foot are reactive or inflammatory, but some are true neoplasms. METHOD: This is a retrospective analysis of 4997 patient records treated in the Orthopaedic Oncology Unit of University Malaya Medical Centre, Malaysia, between 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2020. Demographic data of 195 patients with foot tumours were analysed out of 4997 neoplasm patients. RESULTS: There were 195 cases of foot tumours: 148 were benign, and 47 were malignant. 47 were bone tumours, 4 were metastases, and 144 were soft tissue tumours. Six patients succumbed to the disease, two cases of giant cell tumour (GCT) and one patient with synovial sarcoma had a recurrence. Treatment of foot tumours was wide resection in general. However, in metastasis cases, amputation was done. The majority of tumours were in the toes and dorsum of the foot. Soft tissue tumours of the foot occur in the elderly population in contrast to bone tumours, mainly in the second decade of life. The gender distribution was almost equal for foot tumours. Ganglion and Giant Cell Tumour of the bone are the commonest benign soft tissue and bone tumours. The most common malignant soft tissue and bone tumours are malignant melanoma and chondrosarcoma. The amputation rate is 5.64% the recurrence rate is 1.54%. Mortality rate is 3.08%. The MSTS score is 79%, and the TESS score is 76.23%. CONCLUSION: Foot tumours are relatively rare, mostly originating from soft tissue and exhibiting a benign nature. Nonetheless, a noteworthy proportion-approximately a quarter of these tumours-demonstrate malignancy. The surgical interventions undertaken in managing these tumours and associated functional outcomes generally yield acceptable results.

Thunderclap headache is a sudden severe headache with onset to peak within one minute. Multiple excruciating, short-lived thunderclap headaches over a few days to weeks are highly suggestive of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS). RCVS can be primary or secondary to several factors, but it is rarely described after neuro-endovascular procedures using onyx material. A 10-year-old child presented with RCVS heralded by recurrent thunderclap headache following endovascular embolization of pial arteriovenous malformation with onyx material (contains organic solvent dimethyl sulfoxide). Dimethyl sulfoxide is an angiotoxic material that can cause dysregulation of cerebral vascular tone triggering reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome. Recurrent thunderclap headache after embolization procedures using onyx material should prompt for the diagnosis of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome.

Pulsatile tinnitus (PT) is the perception of an auditory sensation without an external source and in synchrony with the heartbeat. One of the most common cases of PT is bony anomalies of the sigmoid sinus, including dehiscence or diverticula. This case report describes a 26-year-old female patient who presented with pulsatile tinnitus caused by sigmoid sinus diverticula and dehiscence, which was successfully treated with cortical mastoidectomy with diverticula closure using pedicled temporalis fascia and resurfacing of the dehiscence with autogenous bone pate along with bone cement. We recommend thorough clinical and radiological workup to rule out other possible causes of PT before surgical intervention. In addition, we would like to highlight the surgical technique using pedicled temporalis fascia that we have used in our patient, which is easily reproducible and offers successful outcomes.

PURPOSE: This study aims to elucidate the tear proteome and understand the underlying molecular mechanisms involved in the ocular complications following Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN). METHODS: Mass spectrometry (MS) was performed to quantify the tear fluid proteins from chronic SJS/TEN patients (n = 22 eyes) and age- and gender-matched controls (n = 22 eyes). The candidate proteins were validated using ELISA (n = 80 eyes) in tear samples and immunohistochemistry (IHC; n = 12) in eyelid margin specimens. These proteins were compared for significant differences based on age, gender, disease duration, and ocular severity. RESULTS: A total of 1692 tear fluid proteins were identified, of which 470 were significantly differentially regulated in chronic SJS/TEN. The top 10 significantly upregulated proteins were neutrophil secretions including neutrophil elastase (p < .0001), defensin (p < .0001), and matrix metalloproteinase 8 (p < .0001). The presence of neutrophils was confirmed by the upregulation of IL-8 (p < .001) in tears, a key cytokine known for recruiting neutrophils. Additionally, positive expression of myeloperoxidase was observed in the keratinized eyelid margins of SJS/TEN to validate the presence of neutrophils. Among 41 unique proteins identified by MS, IL-36γ (p < .01) was expressed in three SJS/TEN patients and was confirmed in SJS/TEN tears and eyelid margins by ELISA and IHC, respectively. IL-36γ was specifically expressed in the superficial layers of eyelid margin keratinized conjunctiva. The majority of the significantly downregulated proteins were lacrimal gland secretions such as lacritin (p < .0001) and opiorphin (p < .002). Neutrophil elastase (p < .02) was significantly elevated in patients with severe eyelid margin keratinization. CONCLUSION: Our observations indicate a clear correlation between eyelid margin keratinization and the expression of IL-36γ, potentially mediated by neutrophils recruited via IL-8. Future experimental studies are needed to test the role of therapies targeting IL-8 and/or IL-36γ in reducing eyelid margin keratinization and its associated ocular complications in SJS/TEN.

BACKGROUND: Efficient classification of T-acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) involves considering various factors, such as age, white blood cell count, and chromosomal alterations. However, studying protein markers are crucial to improving T-ALL patients' diagnosis and treatment. A study analyzing the expression of proteomes was conducted to identify promising early-stage biomarkers for T-ALL patients METHODS: Label-free liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was used to analyze the blood proteins of both patients and healthy individuals to identify new biomarkers for T-ALL. The findings were validated by RT-PCR, ELISA and computational analysis RESULTS: The study identified 1467 proteins in the blood, of which nine were upregulated and 35 were downregulated by more than 2-fold. T-ALL patients showed a significant increase in specific disease-related proteins, such as eleven-nineteen lysine-rich leukemia protein, triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1, cisplatin resistance-associated-overexpressed protein, X-ray radiation resistance-associated protein 1, tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 10D, protein S100-A8, and copine-4, by more than 3-fold CONCLUSION: The findings of this study provide a valuable protein map of leukemic cells and identify potential biomarkers for leukemic aggressiveness. However, further studies using larger T-ALL patient samples must confirm these preliminary results.

Background: Septic arthritis associated with adjacent infections, presents a diagnostic challenge as the clinical presentation is similar to that of isolated septic arthritis, additional diagnostic tools are needed to detect these infections. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosis of concomitant infection in children with septic arthritis of large joints and its effect on patient outcome and treatment. Materials and Methods: Electronic literature research of PubMed, Cochrane and Scopus, was conducted in January 2022 using a combination of MeSH, search terms and keywords. The data extracted included the study details, demographic data, the proportion of patients having a concomitant periarticular infection, clinical presentation, blood parameters and culture findings and outcomes. Results: This review included seven studies with 499 patients. The mean age was 7.08 ± 2.38 years in the study. There was a male predominance, with 174 being males (62.36%). The most common joint involved was the hip joint (44.47%). 42.48% had concomitant periarticular infections detected by MRI. Osteomyelitis was the most common infection seen in 209 patients (41.84%). The mean duration of antibiotics given and hospital stay was significantly more in periarticular infections (P > 0.05). 32.5% of the patients with septic arthritis underwent a second surgical procedure whereas 61.11% of patients with periarticular infections underwent second procedure in this review (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The use of MRI to diagnose these complicated infections appears to be beneficial. Multi-centric randomised control trials are needed to investigate the efficacy of MRI and its impact on patient care and outcome.

The heterogeneous pathogenesis and treatment response of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has led clinical treatment decisions to be guided by NSCLC subtypes, with lung adenocarcinoma and lung squamous cell carcinoma being the most common subtypes. While histology-based subtyping remains challenging, NSCLC subtypes were found to be distinct at the transcriptomic level. However, unlike genomic alterations, gene expression is generally not assessed in clinical routine. Since subtyping of NSCLC has remained elusive using mutational data, we aimed at developing a neural network model that simultaneously learns from adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma samples of other tissue types and is regularized using a neural network model trained from gene expression data. While substructures of the expression-based manifold were captured in the mutation-based manifold, NSCLC classification accuracy did not significantly improve. However, performance was increased when rejecting inconclusive samples using an ensemble-based approach capturing prediction uncertainty. Importantly, SHAP analysis of misclassified samples identified co-occurring mutations indicative of both NSCLC subtypes, questioning the current NSCLC subtype classification to adequately represent inherent mutational heterogeneity. Since our model captures mutational patterns linked to clinical heterogeneity, we anticipate it to be suited as foundational model of genomic data for clinically relevant prognostic or predictive downstream tasks.

This study assessed the air quality status in different functional zones of Dhanbad-a coal-mining and industrial hub, based on the measurement of aromatic and halogenated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using gas chromatography. The study encompasses source apportionment of VOCs and their chemical reactivity in terms of OH radical loss rate (LOH), ozone-forming potential (OFP), and their secondary organic aerosol forming potential (SOAp). Furthermore, prioritization of VOCs based on a fuzzy-analytical hierarchical process (F-AHP) has also been done. The results found xylene species to have the highest concentration in all three seasons across traffic-intersection and industrial zones and toluene at the institutional zone. The study identified four sources using positive matrix factorization (PMF) model, viz., mixed traffic exhaust (35%), coal combustion sources (30%), industrial (26%), and solvent usage (9%). LOH and SOAp were ~ 16 times more at the industrial and traffic-intersection zone than the institutional zone. The aromatic species contributed 97% to the OFP, and many species exhibited less contribution to the mixing ratio of VOCs but displayed a high contribution to LOH, OFP, and SOAp, suggesting the need to prefer reactivity-based strategies in addition to concentration-based strategies in the future for their regulation. The F-AHP-based priority component analysis identified 16 species out of 29 in the priority watch list (nine in tier-1, four in tier-2, and three in tier-3). The paucity of data and lack of ambient air quality standards on VOCs (except benzene) make it difficult to determine which aspect should be dealt with first and which species require more attention. Therefore, the F-AHP method used in this study could help identify the influencing parameters to be considered while devising efficient VOC management policies.

INTRODUCTION: Despite extensive research, comprehensive characterization of leukaemic stem cells (LSC) and information on their immunophenotypic differences from normal haematopoietic stem cells (HSC) is lacking. Herein, we attempted to unravel the immunophenotypic (IPT) characteristics and heterogeneity of LSC using multiparametric flow cytometry (MFC) and single-cell sequencing. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Bone marrow aspirate samples from patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) were evaluated using MFC at diagnostic and post induction time points using a single tube-10-colour-panel containing LSC-associated antibodies CD123, CD45RA, CD44, CD33 and COMPOSITE (CLL-1, TIM-3, CD25, CD11b, CD22, CD7, CD56) with backbone markers that is, CD45, CD34, CD38, CD117, sCD3. Single-cell sequencing of the whole transcriptome was also done in a bone marrow sample. RESULTS: LSCs and HSCs were identified in 225/255 (88.2%) and 183/255 (71.6%) samples, respectively. Significantly higher expression was noted for COMPOSITE, CD45RA, CD123, CD33, and CD44 in LSCs than HSCs (p < 0.0001). On comparing the LSC specific antigen expressions between CD34+ (n = 184) and CD34- LSCs (n = 41), no difference was observed between the groups. More than one sub-population of LSC was demonstrated in 4.4% of cases, which further revealed high concordance between MFC and single cell transcriptomic analysis in one of the cases displaying three LSC subpopulations by both methods. CONCLUSION: A single tube-10-colour MFC panel is proposed as an easy and reproducible tool to identify and discriminate LSCs from HSCs. LSCs display both inter- and intra-sample heterogeneity in terms of antigen expressions, which opens the facets for single cell molecular analysis to elucidate the role of subpopulations of LSCs in AML progression.

Aims: To determine demographic details, clinical profile, and underlying causes of limbal stem cell deficiency. Settings and Design: Descriptive cross-sectional study. Methods and Material: Patients visiting tertiary referral hospitals between January 2019 and December 2022 who satisfy the criteria for labeling limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) were enrolled. Parameters such as age, gender, region, duration, aetiology, and clinical features were noted. Descriptive statistics was applied. The student t-test was used. Results: A total of 731 eyes of 489 patients with LSCD were included in our study, with age ranging from 5 to 85 years (35.0 ± 19.4 years). The most common presenting complaints were a decrease in vision 473 (96.7%), most of them 342 (69.7%) are having history of gradual progression (>3 months), and 245 (50.1%) have bilateral involvement of eyes. Average corneal clarity was found to be grade 1.6 ± 1.2 and average corneal superficial neovascularization was found to be 7.9 ± 4.3 quadrants. Clinically, we found LSCD of about up to 90° in 57 eyes, 90 to 180° in 71 eyes, 215 eyes with 180 to 270°, and the rest of 388 eyes were having more than 270° of LSCD involvement. Out of 489 patients, 142 (29.0%) patients were of chemical injury, 125 (25.6%) patients were of Steven Johnson syndrome (SJS)/toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), followed by 61 (12.5%) patients of vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC). Conclusions: The majority of patients were young males presented with more than 270° LSCD and vision <2/60. In our study, chemical injury was most common in unilateral LSCD and SJS/TEN in bilateral LSCD.

PURPOSE: To quantify the angular-dependence of monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) power. SETTING: Ophthalmic Biophysics Laboratory, Kallam Anji Reddy campus, L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. DESIGN: Laboratory study. METHODS: Experiments were performed on IOLs from two different manufacturers (APPALENS 207, Appasamy Associates and SN60WF, Alcon Laboratories). IOL powers ranged from 17 to 25 D. The IOLs were mounted in a fluid-filled chamber and the on-axis and off-axis powers were measured using a laser ray tracing system over the central 3 mm zone with delivery angles ranging from -30° to +30° in 5° increments. The position of the best focus was calculated for each IOL at each angle. The angular dependence of IOL power was compared with theoretical predictions. RESULTS: Peripheral defocus increased significantly with increasing incidence angle and power. The peripheral defocus at ±30° increased from 5.8 D to 8.5 D when the power increased from 17.5 D to 24.5 D for APPALENS 207 and from 4.9 D to 7.4 D when the power increased from 17 D to 25 D for SN60WF. The mean difference between the measured and theoretical tangential power at ±30° was 0.50 ± 0.16 D for the APPALENS 207 and -0.40 ± 0.10 D for the SN60WF, independent of IOL power. CONCLUSIONS: IOLs introduce a significant amount of peripheral defocus which varies significantly with IOL power and design. Given that peripheral defocus is related to lens power, replacement of the natural lens (approximately 24 D) with an IOL will produce a significant difference in peripheral defocus profile after surgery.

This review analyzed all pertinent articles on keratoconus (KCN) and cataract surgery. It covers preoperative planning, intraoperative considerations, and postoperative management, with the aim of providing a simplified overview of treating such patients. Preoperatively, the use of corneal cross-linking, intrastromal corneal ring segments, and topo-guided corneal treatments can help stabilize the cornea and improve the accuracy of biometric measurements. It is important to consider the advantages and disadvantages of traditional techniques such as penetrating keratoplasty and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty, as well as newer stromal augmentation techniques, to choose the most appropriate surgical approach. Obtaining reliable measurements can be difficult, especially in the advanced stages of the disease. The choice between toric and monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) should be carefully evaluated. Monofocal IOLs are a better choice in patients with advanced disease, and toric lenses can be used in mild and stable KCN. Intraoperatively, the use of a rigid gas permeable (RGP) lens can overcome the challenge of image distortion and loss of visual perspective. Postoperatively, patients may need updated RGP or scleral lenses to correct the corneal irregular astigmatism. A thorough preoperative planning is crucial for good surgical outcomes, and patients need to be informed regarding potential postoperative surprises. In conclusion, managing cataracts in KCN patients presents a range of challenges, and a comprehensive approach is essential to achieve favorable surgical outcomes.

Keratoconus (KC) is a degenerative disorder resulting from the degradation of the stromal collagen fibril network in the cornea, leading to its thinning and conical deformation. Various studies have established animal models of KC by using the collagenase type II enzyme to gain a better understanding of the pathogenesis, however, long-term monitoring or follow-up of the models have not been reported so far. This study evaluates the long-term stability of collagenase type II-induced KC in a rabbit model. Six New Zealand rabbits were divided into 4 study groups with 3 eyes per group. The groups were control (group 1), 0.5% proparacaine + 5 min collagenase treatment on day 0 and day 30 (group 2), 0.5% proparacaine + 10 min collagenase treatment on day 0 (group 3) and, mechanical debridement + 2 min collagenase treatment on day 0 (group 4). Inflammation was observed in group 4 till week 10. Significant decrease in the central corneal thickness was observed in group 3 by week 4 (p < 0.001) however, the thickness was regained in the subsequent follow-ups in all the groups. Keratography results showed no changes in Km values but an increased astigmatic power in all groups. Scanning electron microscopy images revealed thinner collagen fibrils arranged in a mesh-like pattern above the uniform layer of the collagen lamellae in the central part of the treated corneas. Similarly, histological staining revealed loosely packed stromal fibrils in the anterior portion of the cornea which corroborates with the immunofluorescent staining results. This study revealed the remodeling of the corneal structure by eight weeks of collagenase treatment. Consequently, the possibility of creating a rabbit keratoconus model induced by collagenase may warrant further consideration.

OBJECTIVE: We hypothesized that the exact time of fixation of paediatric proximal femur fractures will have an effect on the ultimate clinical and radiological outcome. This article aimed to compare the clinical-radiological outcomes in paediatric proximal femur fractures having early and delayed presentation. METHODOLOGY: A prospective cohort study was conducted from January 2019 to November 2022 in patients of age of 5 to 16 years presented with proximal femur fracture and divided into two groups: group A: early presentation, presented <48hours of injury; group B: delayed presentation, presented >48hours of injury. Patients underwent internal fixation treatment modality and followed up to assess clinical outcomes and radiological outcomes, and final outcome was assessed as per Ratliff's criteria. RESULTS: In the study of 44 patients, 72.72% were male, and 27.27% were female, with male-to-female ratio to be 2.6:1. The commonest mode of injury was fall from height accounting for 52.27% followed by road traffic accidents (RTA) in 38.63%. The most common fracture type observed was Delbet type II, which was observed in 43.18%. There was significant shorter duration of surgery in group A (p-value=0.013), VAS score (p=0.045), and limb length discrepancy (p=0.022). Also, there was a statistical difference in AVN (p-value=0.0295) and growth disturbance (p-value=0.0394) between two groups. Also, there was statistically significant difference between Ratliff's criteria two groups (p-value=0.030). CONCLUSION: Early presentation has shorter duration of surgery, less VAS score at final follow-up, and less limb length discrepancy, less development of complications like avascular necrosis of the femoral head, and growth disturbance.
